First Oak Therapy is a small, independent practice in Mansfield, serving clients across Clipstone, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. There's no waiting list bureaucracy and no clinical detachment. Instead, you'll find one practitioner, a quiet room and a genuinely tailored approach to counselling, hypnotherapy and Reiki.
Every session is shaped around you: your pace, your goals and the mix of talking therapy and energy work that actually helps. In fact, many clients come for one therapy and then discover the others complement it.
Properly qualified
Diploma-level training in counselling and advanced hypnotherapy, plus Reiki Master Teacher status. Not a weekend certificate.

Founder · Counsellor · Reiki Master Teacher · Advanced HypnotherapistWelcome, I'm Jennifer. My work is about helping you find your way back to yourself, using whichever blend of holistic and evidence-based practice fits where you are right now.
I've been a Reiki practitioner since 2017 and became a Reiki Master Teacher in 2022. My path then led into counselling. I hold a Prince's Trust Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory and a King's Trust Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and I'm an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society. I'm also a registered member of the General Hypnotherapy Register, qualified as an Advanced Hypnotherapist.

Where is First Oak Therapy based?
First Oak Therapy is at 26 First Oak Drive, Mansfield, NG21 9FT. It's easy to reach from Clipstone, Forest Town, Edwinstowe, Rainworth and the wider Mansfield area. Clients also travel from Nottingham and across Nottinghamshire.
How do I book an appointment?
Call Jennifer on 07557 308305 or email Jennifer@firstoaktherapy.co.uk. You can talk through what's going on and find a time that suits you. All appointments are booked in advance.
Which therapy is right for me?
You don't need to decide before you get in touch. Counselling suits you if you'd like to talk things through and understand your feelings. Hypnotherapy can help if you want to change a habit or an automatic response. Reiki is ideal if you need deep relaxation. Many clients combine them, and Jennifer will help you choose.
How much does a session cost?
Fees depend on the therapy and the type of session. Please call or email Jennifer for current prices. She's happy to answer any questions before you book.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. Sessions are confidential, within the limits set by Jennifer's professional code of ethics. For example, she may need to act if someone is at serious risk of harm. Jennifer explains this clearly in your first session.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange. A £10 non-refundable deposit applies to cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment.
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes. Jennifer holds a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and is an Advanced Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master Teacher. She is an NCPS Accredited Registrant, is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register, is accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, and is fully insured.
