Accessibility statement

First Oak Therapy wants everyone to find the support they need. This accessibility statement explains how we've made our website easier to use.

"Web accessibility means that websites, tools, and technologies are designed and developed so that people with disabilities can use them."

Zoom in and out

You can zoom this website in up to 400% without losing information. So, read at whatever size is comfortable for you.

Colour and contrast

We chose text and background colours with strong contrast. This supports people with low vision or colour blindness.

Simple, consistent layouts

Every page uses the same clear layout and headings. As a result, you can focus on what matters without clutter.

Keyboard and screen reader support

Every link, button and menu works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus outline. Each one also has a descriptive label for assistive technology. In addition, a "Skip to content" link appears first on every page.

Accessibility toolbar

Use the accessibility button on screen to change text size, spacing, contrast and more. That way, the site suits how you read.

Translate this website

Use the language switcher to read the site in your preferred language.

Video and motion

Videos only play when you choose. Also, if your device is set to reduce motion, animations switch off.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We built and checked the site with keyboard use, zoom and automated tools in mind.

Known limitations

Some features come from other companies, such as the map, the reviews and the translation tool. We can't fully control how accessible they are. If one causes you trouble, just ask and we'll give you the information another way.

Other formats

Would you like information in a different format, such as large print or plain text? Please get in touch and we'll arrange it.

Get in touch

If any part of this site is hard to use, please email Jennifer@firstoaktherapy.co.uk or call 07557 308305. We'll do our best to help.
